Authorship written by members of the Academy and requesting sponsorship, support from the Academy or utilizing an authorship for consideration of recertification must first submit a draft and authorship deadlines to the Academy’s BOD. The Academy will review and approve before publication.
Submissions Submissions shall be received by the Continuing Education Chair then sent to the Executive Committee for review. Once approved by the Executive Committee the individual requesting endorsement or sponsorship by the Academy will receive notification within 1 (one) weeks’ time. The Continuing Education committee and President are responsible for ensuring accurate information portrayal. Examples of submissions include APRVT endorsed newsletters, journals or scholarly articles.
Submission times Draft submissions must be received by the Academy at least eight (8) weeks prior to a publishing deadline. Once reviewed by the Continuing Education committee and the President, the Continuing Education Committee Chair will notify the Academy ACVSMR mentor, if needed, for final review within a timely fashion of upcoming deadlines by the associated publisher. Extensions or other draft submission time requests other than the above mentioned will be considered on a case-by-case basis and approved under extraneous circumstances.
Images and Photos A model release form must be maintained on file with the Academy and be available upon request by the publisher. This may be in the form of an electronic (e-mail) authorization or written consent utilizing a standard format developed by the Academy. Images and photos must accompany the text portion of the authorship and be original work of the author. Images must be of high resolution and on file with the Academy media chairperson. Authorship Guidelines Authorship must be original works and any works not written by the author must be appropriately cited according to accepted referencing guidelines for scientific journals (i.e. APA, MLA CSE formats).
