Update April 1, 2017: Letters of Intent and Letters of Recommendation for the class of 2018 examination cycle is now closed. Candidates wishing to apply for the class of 2019 examination cycle must submit both a letter of intent and two letters of recommendation to the APRVT Credentialing Chair by January 1, 2018.
UPDATE February 17, 2017: NAVTA has accepted the petition for the Academy of Physical Rehabilitation Veterinary Technicians (APRVT). Anyone wishing to apply for the first exam cycle, which is proposed late 2018 must submit a Pre-Applicationletter of intent and two letters of recommendation from colleagues. Just like all other specialty academies these recommendation letters must be from recognized experts in the field.
In addition to these key pieces of information, applicants will be asked to have a veterinarian mentor attest to the applicant's knowledge of state regulatory and practice guidelines for credentialed veterinary technicians to perform veterinary physical rehabilitation. Application packets will be sent once letters of intent and letters of recommendation have been received.
The entire organizing committee would like to thank our mentor and president of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Julia Tomlinson and our industry sponsors for helping make everything possible. The collaboration from our community and mentors have been instrumental in developing our eligibility and credentialing requirements for applicants. For those who do not quite yet feel they are ready for Academy application, we can help get you ready by connecting with technician members of the American Association of Rehabilitation Veterinarians
It is the Mission of the Academy of Physical Rehabilitation Veterinary Technicians (APRVT) to provide assistance in veterinary physical rehabilitation, encouraging veterinary professionals and colleagues to further their education, while improving the quality of animals’ lives.
